GSK House
In collaboration with American architects Hillier Group, we designed
an 80,000 sq m office development for pharmaceutical giant Glaxo SmithKine (GSK) — a development intended to symbolize the ambitions of this global company. The complex is set in parkland beside the M4 motorway between London and Heathrow Airport.
Three builidngs, each five storey high, flank a central 13 storey tower. Two are curved in plan: one reaching out into the landscape, the other embracing the semi-circular forecourt. The tower is tear-drop shaped in plan, its sharp edges and high-level horizontal 'blade' deliberate references to the leading edge research undertaken by GSK.
