The Alan Higgs Centre
The Alan Higgs Centre is located in the green belt, southeast of Coventry on a 37.75 hectare habitat-managed site next to the River Sowe. Its two storey low-profile context-friendly building houses Coventry City Football Club's football academy and a community leisure centre.
The Centre's grounds provide: five outdoor natural-grass football pitches, one of which is for community use; an outdoor synthetic football pitch; four green tarmac netball courts; a skate park; practice space; and space for youth activities. The development also covers roadways and parking for the public, staff, coaches, disabled use and cyclists.
